Looking after our environment
Updated: Jul 24, 2019
With Plastic Free July and National Tree Day on this month we thought it'd be timely to let you know how Daily Self Care Co. (DSCC) stands up for the environment. Both of us love spending time in the great outdoors, and who wouldn't want to in this glorious country of ours! Both of us also do as much as we can to minimise our impact on the earth.
When you purchase any self care box from us, you will find we use a recycled FSC approved paper based box (totally reusable!) stamped with our very own DSCC logo using vegetable based ink. All of our paper based products are FSC approved and can go in the recycle or compost when you are finished with them. We use minimal packaging to avoid too much unnecessary waste. Our wood wool, which we use to keep products stable for transit, is biodegradable and obtained from sustainable sources. For fragile items we reuse bubble wrap that we have been hoarding since the 50s. We ask that you keep it going and reuse it too.
In Our Homes
We make every effort to do our part to reduce landfill with our Bokashi buckets which also benefits our veggie gardens. We also use REDcycle and our local council recycling programs. When shopping we strive to minimise our environmental impact by using our reusable coffee cups, water bottles, cutlery and containers instead of single use plastics.
Every little bit helps.
It is extremely vital for us to make DSCC responsive to environmental needs and it is something we continue to strive to improve on. So when it comes to which products we feature, we connect with local makers who share our values and commitment to reducing their impact on the earth.
We'd love to hear how you reduce waste and minimise your impact.
